Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Anti-wrinkle injections is a muscle relaxant that helps to reduce the dynamic lines created by facial expressions around the forehead, the frown and around the eyes. It also reduces bunny lines around the nose and smoker’s lines around the mouth.

After your treatment you can return to your normal daily activities.
Generally within 2 weeks the effect of the muscle relaxant will be noted and treatment can last 3-4 months.

The treatment is safe and has minimal side effects including pain, burning or stinging sensation, bruising, swelling or redness at the injection site.

A rare side effect is a localised muscle weakness that leads to the drooping of the upper eyelid which will resolve in a few weeks.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers is a soft injectable gel made from synthesised hyaluronic acid. It is non-toxic and contains no animal proteins, allergens, or chemicals. The function of this Hyaluronic acid is to bind water and regulate the water balance within the skin.

Dermal fillers work in different ways to restore depleted volume and reshape the natural curves of the face. It revitalises and adds volume to the treated area instantly.

As we age our skin loses the elasticity and thickness and the underlining structure in our face begins to break down and diminish.
Over time this causes more nasolabial folds, down-turning of the mouth edges, fine lines around the mouth and chin, and hollowing on our face.

Following the injection of the filler you may feel a slight burning sensation on the area of the injection and experience some swelling or bruising which settles over a few days. The results of the filler can last anywhere between 6 to 18 months.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are versatile and are used to:

Volumize the lips

Plump the cheeks

Reshape the chin

Eliminate the marionette lines

Eliminate nasolabial folds

Reduce temporal hollowing

Fill fine lines

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Frax 1940

Frax 1940 is a non-ablative fractional diode laser that is used for shallow skin resurfacing, targeting the epidermis and superficial dermis. It has SoftCool technology sending a stream of cool air for comfort during the treatment. The non-ablative laser keeps the skin intact, making the healing process comfortable.

The areas treated with the Frax 1940 are the face, neck, chest and hands.

Treatment with the Frax 1940 will lead to clinical improvement to the overall skin appearance, texture, pigmentation and fine wrinkles.

What is the process during Frax 1940 treatment?

Prior to the treatment, a topical anaesthetic will be applied for 30 minutes to the treated area. The topical anaesthetic is removed and the skin is then thoroughly cleaned and dried. Safety eyewear will be worn during the procedure.

Treatments are performed monthly at approximately 4-week intervals for a total of 3 sessions. Post-treatment you will experience redness, swelling, and possible crusting of the pigmented lesions. The redness can last for 2-3 days with minimal downtime. Post-care involves strict sun protection and ample moisturization.

Nd:YAG laser

The Nd:YAG is a vascular laser that delivers a single wavelength of light in a focused synchronised pulse during treatment.

When choosing different fluency (energy), and pulse duration along with the skin cooling control they can be used to treat specific skin changes or conditions.

The laser will destroy the lesion being treated leaving the surrounding tissue unharmed.

What is the process during the Nd:YAG laser treatment?

Safety eyewear will be worn during the treatment. A sensation like an elastic band slapping on your skin will be felt including a heat sensation. Post-treatment: A sunburn-like reaction is common after the treatment and can last a few hours or 1-2 days.

Redness and swelling are also common and bruising can occur along with scabbing or crusting. Post-care involves strict sun protection and ample moisturization.

It is used to treat a range of benign vascular lesions such as:

Facial telangiectasia - Broken capillaries and veins on the nose and face

Leg veins - Spider veins on the legs

Cherry angiomas

Port wine stains- Vascular birth marks

Intense Pulse Light (IPL)

by Nordlys Ellipse

At Skin Cancer & Cosmetic Clinic Flecker House we use the unique medical grade Intense Pulse Light (IPL). Nordlys Ellipse has narrow-band technology defined by dual filters and Sub-millisecond pulses. This technology provides great treatment versatility to help us treat different conditions safely and effectively.

Intense Pulse Light (IPL) works in a similar way to laser but differs in being able to deliver a range of wavelengths rather than a single wavelength, allowing multiple skin changes to be targeted and treated at the same time.

By adjusting the wavelengths of light used along with the pulse duration and fluency (energy) IPL can have a broad range of beneficial skin effects.

As we mature our skin endures obvious changes. It losses its smoothness and becomes thinner causing unwanted pigmentation and redness caused by small blood vessels. Sun exposure can increase the signs of ageing.

What is the process during the treatment:

Safety eyewear will be worn during the treatment. A gel will be applied to the area to be treated. Several passes of the IPL will be applied combined with the laser if required. During the treatment, it will give a sensation like an elastic band slapping the skin combined with a warm heat sensation.

After the treatment, a sunburn-like reaction is common and can last for a few hours. Redness and swelling is also common. Scabbing or crusting can occur and age spots can darken before lifting off or fading. It is strongly advised to avoid the sun, use sunscreen and ample moisturization after the treatment.

With Intense Pulse Light (IPL) we treat:

Benign pigmented lesions

Lentigines - age spots

Solar lentigines - sunspots

Ephelides - freckles

Skin rejuvenation

Facial & chest telangiectasia - broken capillaries

Rosacea

Port wine stains
